Sunderland FC puts an end to Chelsea unbeaten home Record

History was made at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Chelsea Coach; Jose Mourinho saw his unbeaten 78 EPL game record come to an end with a late penalty that put Sunderland on top.

Sunderland came into Saturday’s game as the bottom team on the EPL table, but they stunned Chelsea, putting a dent in their title hopes this season, and helping make Liverpool’s chance more realistic.

Cameroon Striker, Samuel Eto’o has given Chelsea a lead in the 12th minute of the first half, but Connor Wickham equalized for Liverpool with right-footed shot from center box.  Wickham was left unmarked following a corner, and has all the time in the world to place his shot to the bottom left.

Chelsea had had many chances in the first and second half to take the lead again, but missed their opportunities, and in the 80th minute, after sloppily loosing the ball, Azpilicueta fouled American striker, Jozy Altidore leading to a penalty that converted by Fabio Borini, putting an end to Mourinho’s record of 78 games as Chelsea manager without loosing.

With this loss, Chelsea is five points behind Liverpool who beat Norwich 3-2 on Sunday.  Chelsea will play Liverpool next week in a game that will most likely determine the next EPL title winner.
