FC Barcelona Has Exciting Week Ahead With Man City and Real Madrid Matches


FC Barcelona, one of the most successful and celebrated club teams in the world, will have quite a week on their hands. They face two top-notch teams in a four day span as they battle Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League head-to-head, and then host El Clasico later in the week.

The Champions League Round of 16 matchup pins together Manchester City and Barcelona in Camp Nou on March 18th. The last time the two teams faced each other was a first-leg match on February 24th, where Barcelona won 2-1 with goals coming from Luis Suarez in Etihad Stadium.

 

This match will be a touch different, as Manchester City expects to have Yaya Toure back from injury. Sergio Aguero scored the lone goal for City.

 

Following their Champions League clash, Barcelona goes up against Real Madrid in a March 22nd La Liga match. Another version of El Clasico will be held at Camp Nou with Barcelona having a ton of momentum on their side. Real Madrid has been in poor form in recent weeks, drawing with Villarreal, and losing to Athletic Bilbao and Schalke in three consecutive matches. Real Madrid trails Barcelona by one point in La Liga standings.

 

According to international ticket reseller Ticketbis, the highest percentage of sales outside of Spain for the March 18th Champions league match against Manchester City comes from the United Kingdom at 8.7% of total sales. Following behind is South Korea at 2.6%, and then there are four countries that are under two percent, including Japan, Saudi Arabia, United States and France.

 

For the La Liga battle with Real Madrid, 80.7% of total sales come from Spain, with 19.3% accounting for international sales. Of the international sales, 3.4% are from France, with 2% coming from Germany, followed by the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Argentina which are all between 1.9 and 1.5%.

 

In 27 games played in the Spanish Primera Division, Lionel Messi has 32 goals and 14 assists. Messi is averaging 1.2 goals per game in his last 10 appearances for Barcelona.
